When IPL Founder Lalit Modi Had Alleged That DC vs KKR Match In IPL 2019 Was Fixed

The recent nabbing of three people by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in relation to match-fixing of the games played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 “based on inputs” from Pakistan, has brought to limelight the time when former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi had alleged that the Delhi Capitals Vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match IPL 2019 was fixed.

On Saturday, officials informed that three people, including one from Delhi and two from Hyderabad, have been booked by the CBI, who were informed that the outcomes of the games played in the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) were influenced by a few individuals involved in cricket betting and they were receiving inputs from Pakistan.

Three people, who are booked by the CBI in connection with alleged match-fixing of the games played in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) are Dileep Kumar, Gurram Vasu, and Gurram Satish.

This has led to people recalling when Lalit Modi had accused BCCI and IPL that the KKR vs DC match in IPL 2019 was fixed.

Match-Fixing Of The Highest Order-Lalit Modi Alleged That KKR V DC IPL 2019 Match Was Fixed

A statement made back in time by Lalit Modi, the former IPL governing council commissioner, is catching attention again after CBI arrested three people in connection with match-fixing in IPL 2019. This pertains to the game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the tournament.

He was one of the first to allege fixing, besides urging BCCI and IPL anti-corruption authorities to act upon the case.

The incident relates to a shockingly true prophecy made by DC wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant from behind the stumps, who seems to be telling legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane that the next ball will go for four runs.

As it happened, the ball indeed went for the boundary after KKR right-hander Robin Uthappa drove a wide ball outside the off-stump past the in-field.

Lalit Modi had instantly took to twitter and made a contentious allegation against the legality of what had taken place.

He tweeted: “Is this a joke or cannot believe this. Match-fixing to the highest order. When will @iplt20 @bcci.tv @icc @bcci ever wakeup”

The BCCI back then had to clarify the issue and stated that it was unfair on Lalit Modi and other such to raise doubts over the DC-KKR game after an incomplete clip of the incident was spread all over social media.
