Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga picked the wicket of Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday, May 27.
Samson’s struggle against the Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga continued in the crucial Qualifier 2 encounter and for the 6th time in T20 cricket, Samson got dismissed by Hasaranga.
The Rajasthan Royals captain is generally a great player of spin as in Indian Premier League 2022, before today’s game, he had scored 178 runs off 107 balls against spinners and he batted with a strike rate of 166.35.
However, in the T20 format, before today’s game, Samson played 6 innings against Hasaranga and faced 23 balls against the leg-spinner while getting out 5 times and scoring just 18 runs.
Meanwhile, Hasaranga dismissed Samson on the 4th ball of the 12th over during RR’s chase and the Rajasthan Royals captain got out after scoring 23 runs off 21 balls, including 1 four and 2 sixes.
The Sri Lankan leg-spinner bowled a googly to Samson and the RR skipper charged down the track to smash the ball but he completely missed the wrong’un. Royal Challengers Bangalore wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik did not make any mistake behind the stumps and he easily stumped Sanju Samson.
