Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Lockie Ferguson clocked the fastest delivery of the IPL 2022 season in the grand final of the league against the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
The two teams are going head-to-head in a bid to land the trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Sanju Samson won the toss and surprisingly enough, made the bold decision to bat first and set the target.
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a quickfire 22 before falling while Jos Buttler assumed his role of playing through the innings and letting the batter at the other end take the chances.
During the 5th over of the powerplay, Ferguson ended up smashing the record for the fastest delivery of the season, previously held by Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer, Umran Malik.
Ferguson clocked 157.3kmph on the speed gun bowling to Buttler and is more than likely to win the award for the fastest delivery of the season.
