SRH vs KKR: Rahul Tripathi Came In And Changed The Moment, Didn’t Allow Us To Settle – Shreyas Iyer

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer was disappointed with his team’s bowling effort but lavished praise on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter, Rahul Tripathi.

SRH defeated KKR by 7 wickets courtesy of twin fifties from Tripathi (71) and Aiden Markram (68). They managed to chase down a stiff target of 176 while barely breaking a sweat in the process.

Much of it was down to the brilliant attack from the duo but KKR would be disappointed with their bowling attack. Varun Chakravarthy had a horrendous day and conceded 45 runs in 3 overs.

Pat Cummins was once again ineffective with the ball. After conceding 49 and 51 in the first two games, he once again leaked runs and gave away 40 runs in 3.5 overs.

Feeling very drained. I thought it was a good total. To be honest, Tripathi came in and changed the moment and didn’t allow us to settle. Their bowlers executed the stuff well as the ball was seaming.”

As batters, we were settled at the end of the powerplay and put a great effort as a batting unit. Was an off day as a bowling unit,” Shreyas said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

The win takes SRH to 7th place on the points table with 3 wins in 5 games. As for KKR, they now drop to 4th place with 3 wins and as many losses.

Final scores:

KKR – 175/8 in 20 overs
SRH – 176/3 in 17.5 overs
