Liverpool could be forced to abandon their quest to sign Leeds’ Raphinha after it emerged the Brazil international could be close to signing a new contract with the Yorkshire club (Daily Express, January 14); Liverpool are continuing to look into the possibility of signing Leeds forward Raphinha but believe the deal might be too complicated for January completion (Daily Express, January 3); Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen, Raphinha and Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz (The Sun, December 27); Liverpool are monitoring West Ham forward Bowen and Leeds winger Raphinha as future transfer targets, according to reports (Daily Mail, December 10); Bayern Munich are stepping up their interest in Leeds star Raphinha to rival Liverpool (The Sun, December 28).

Liverpool are poised to trigger the £75m release clause of 23-year-old Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who is attracting interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid (El Nacional, January 11).

Divock Origi‘s representatives have been approached by three Italian clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement this month. Origi’s preference, however, is to stay in England, meaning either a Premier League club would have to pay money this month or take him as a free agent in the summer when his contract runs out. The Belgium international may wait until the summer to fully assess his options (Sky Sports, January 6); West Ham are ready to make a move for Liverpool’s deputy striker Divock Origi in January (Sunday Express, December 19); Origi is said to be at the centre of a transfer tussle between Serie A sides AC Milan and Atalanta (The Sun, December 14).

Liverpool could allow defenders Neco Williams and Nat Phillips to leave the club in the January transfer window (Sky Sports, January 5); Phillips is ready for a move away from Liverpool in January if the Anfield club receive an acceptable offer, which is believed to be in the region of £15m. Liverpool have already rejected a £7m bid from an unnamed Premier League side (Sky Sports, December 5); Liverpool could allow Williams to leave the club in the January transfer window, with the 20-year-old very conscious of his place in the Wales team (Sky Sports, December 5).

Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez ahead of a potential move next summer (Daily Mail, December 22); Aston Villa have submitted a proposal to Liverpool to sign centre-back Gomez, according to reports (Daily Express, December 20); Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has made a defender his priority and could raid his former club Liverpool for Gomez (Daily Mirror, November 28).
