Mumbai Indians (MI) have confirmed the arrival of Akash Madhwal in their camp as a replacement for the injured top-order batter, Suryakumar Yadav, for the remainder of the IPL 2022 season.
Suryakumar was ruled out of the league after he sustained a muscle-related injury in his left forearm. The unfortunate incident took place during MI’s match against the Gujarat Titans on May 6.
In his stead, Madhwal has been signed up for his base price of INR 20 lakh, the official website of the IPL confirmed in a statement in the evening on Monday.
“Mumbai Indians (MI) have signed Akash Madhwal as a replacement for batter Suryakumar Yadav who was ruled out of the TATA IPL 2022 owing to a left forearm muscle injury.”
