IPL 2022: Full Stadiums Are What IPL Is About, Just Felt Excited And Couldn’t Control It – Jos Buttler

Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Jos Buttler was delighted with the full house at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Qualifier 2 on Friday and the excellent atmosphere proved to be a confidence booster for the Englishman.

He scored his fourth century of the IPL 2022 season, equaling Virat Kohli’s record of most centuries in a single season and also going past the RCB batter’s record tally of total boundaries in a season.

His century ensured that RR chased down the target of 158 set by RCB with more than 10 balls to spare, booking a rematch with Gujarat Titans (GT) in the grand final on Sunday.

I was really excited to come in and play in the stadium with 100,000 people. I thought the atmosphere was amazing. I just think having had two years of playing in empty stadiums, the full stadiums are what IPL is all about. I just felt excited, I could not control it,” Buttler said after the game in a chat with Sanju Samson.

“You finally won a toss” – Jos Buttler

Buttler also poked fun at Samson after the latter won his 3rd toss of the season in 16 attempts. Samson has had one of the worst tournaments in terms of tosses won but during a crucial knockout game, the luck favored him.

I feel tired, but obviously delighted. A great day for us, an amazing crowd, an amazing occasion. You finally won a toss, which I think was pretty crucial today. So, feeling good,” he further mentioned.

RR now goes up against GT in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
