Chelsea v Manchester City: Thomas Tuchel pre match

Former Chelsea centre-back William Gallas his tipped his old team for the Premier League title this term after explaining that the Blues are only getting “stronger and stronger” under German manager Thomas Tuchel.

The west London outfit have enjoyed a stellar start to the new season, taking 13 points from a possible 15 after four wins and one draw from their opening five games.

Chelsea are aiming to lift the Premier League for the first time since 2017 after tasting Champions League glory for the second time in their history last season and are primed to do so given they added Romelu Lukaku and Saul Niguez to a squad that were already European champions.

Gallas spent five years at Stamford Bridge in the early noughties and he feels Chelsea can go the distance after admitting he fails to see how any other team can topple them.

“They are the champions of Europe. They look stronger and stronger. If they are really focused they can beat any records, especially now they have Lukaku. This is a scary team for any opponent to play,” Gallas exclusively told GentingBet.

Manchester United fans may think they have a stronger team with Ronaldo back, but if you take every player position by position then I believe Chelsea is stronger than United.

“I really can’t see any club that can beat them. Tuchel is a perfectionist and he always has a tactical plan. Whenever he plays against the league’s best managers, he always finds the solution. Chelsea can win the Premier League, definitely.”

Chelsea’s title credentials will be put to the ultimate test on Saturday afternoon when they welcome reigning champions Manchester City to Stamford Bridge.

While any contest against the champions could be deemed daunting, Tuchel enjoys a fantastic record against City boss Pep Guardiola in recent years – winning the last three of their meet-ups.

However, the Chelsea manager has heaped praise on the man who will sit in the opposite dug-out at the weekend, claiming: “I have the highest respect for Pep.”

When asked if he was the superior manager, Tuchel explained: “This question does not even exist for me and I can’t answer it.

“It’s a question for you guys and you can endlessly debate.

“I am a huge admirer for the impact he had from his first day of his professional coaching – the impact at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. He has my biggest respect.

“There is no reason to ask myself if I am a better coach. I do the best I can, I am in a place I am very happy, and I am a better coach today than yesterday.”
